Residents continue to raise transparency, road concerns

Residents again raised concerns about transparency and road conditions with county officials, citing ongoing frustrations with communication and infrastructure.

The comments were made during recent Ray County Commission meetings, where several residents spoke during public comment periods, highlighting a variety of ongoing concerns about county operations and services while continuing a pattern of issues raised in earlier meetings.

Resident Kurt Croix spoke first and raised multiple concerns with county officials, beginning with questions about a notice related to a courthouse closure and whether it had been properly published.

“The courthouse was closed on Friday. What newspaper was that published in?” asked Croix.

County staff said the notice did not have to be published.

Croix responded, “That’s a violation of state statute, which I’ve told you guys about three times now.”
