Orrick FFA takes superior rating at state convention
Missouri Future Farmers of America (FFA) was impressed with Orrick’s FFA chapter at this year’s state convention. The chapter received a superior rating during the convention, held April 17-19 in Columbia. Orrick received the rating for having 100% of its membership in attendance. Orrick also received some individual and team competition awards. Cash Honeycutt, who’s in his third year as chapter officer-president, placed second in the specialty crop proficiency competition. It was his third trip to state.
Making his first trip to state in his first year with FFA, Logan Dennis received a Group 1 individual rating. In doing so, he qualified for college credit from Missouri State University in Springfield and a scholarship to the University of Missouri Columbia upon admission.
Orrick’s poultry team – Victoria Graves, Logan Dennis, Ozzden Ayres and Dalton Lorino – placed 21st and received a Group 2 rating. It was the first appearance at state for the foursome, all of whom are in their first …
