Kansas City area engineer and Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) representative Benjamin McCabe visited the Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce in early January. Topics discussed during the meeting included: • Mowing concerns • Maintenance shouldering effort on Hwy 13 between Caldwell County and Richmond • Upcoming road resurfacing projects • Upcoming Richmond monument sign project • Resurfacing and shouldering project on Missouri Highway 13 between Caldwell County and Richmond planned for next year McCabe sent an email to those who participated in the discussion, stating job options are plentiful and MoDOT is facing maintenance staffing challenges. Recently, the department has been focusing on pavements which has resulted in service level challenges associated with mowing, signage, litter and commuter lots.
