Gregory to face Bates in November
The District 21 State Senate race saw Republican Kurtis Gregory take the majority of votes with 14,940 (56.63%), followed by Doug Richey with 11,442 votes, or 43.37%.
Gregory will face Democrat Jim Bates, who was unopposed, in the November 5 general election.
Ray County Clerk Heather Maulsby reported 33.9% of the 15,362 registered voters in Ray County voted in the Aug. 6 primary election. It was also noted election results are unofficial at this time.
Ray County voters did not follow the district’s trend, choosing Richey as their leading candidate with 2,139 (52.78%) votes, compared to Gregory at 1,914 (47.22%).
Vying for Missouri governor will be Republican Mike Kehoe, who garnered 274,840 (39.41%) of statewide votes, along with Democrat Crystal Quade with 189,822 (50.25%) and unopposed Libertarian Bill Slantz. On the Republican side, Ray County cast a total of 4,160 votes, with 1,535 (36.90%) votes for Kehoe; 1,277 (30.70%) for Bill Eigel; 1,060 (25.48%) for John Ashcroft; 327 …
