A May 6 car accident claimed the life of a 26-year-old Richmond man. The victim, Jason “Austin” Petticord, was traveling northbound on State Highway T south of W 88 Street, when his 2000 Dodge Neon veered off the right side of the road resulting in him striking an embankment and overturning, according to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Ray County Ambulance District, Assistant Chief of Operations, Brad Branson pronounced the victim deceased at 7:40 p.m., with assistance from Missouri State Highway Patrol Office Corporal Nick A. Perez. The Ray County Coroner’s Office transported Petticord to Thurman Funeral Home. The Richmond Police Department also responded to the scene to assist with traffic control.
