The Ray County Fair is in full swing this week with more than two dozen events and activities. The fair, which started July 10 with the 4-H/FFA Horse Show, continues throughout the week, wrapping up Friday with a rabbit show and small animal show at the Ray County Fairgrounds. Competitions last week included shooting sports and a ham show July 16. Sheep, goat and dog shows took place Monday. Other activities this week included a swine show Tuesday; a beef show and Pee Wee show Wednesday; and poultry, cat and Clover Kid pet shows Thursday. The rabbit and small animal shows are slated for Friday. Other activities this week included the annual ham breakfast and auction Monday, along with 4-H demonstrations, public speaking and judging events. The livestock auction and farmer appreciation dinner took place Tuesday. A fashion show was held Thursday.
