Despite January’s heavy snow, the early childhood center build site, which neighbors Dear Elementary, still has a substantial completion date of Dec. 2 this year. Dear Elementary Principal Dr. Marlaine Boyd said CB Construction Services (CBCS) Project Sr. Superintendent Travis Jones installed a work trailer and set up a black tarp along the fence. She noted everything is weather permitting, but she and CBCS are confident. “We are moving forward. Projects take time to get contracts in order, and people take time off during the holidays,” said Boyd. Boyd outlined the upcoming plan for the parking lot situation. “Travis said he wants to wait to install the fence. I want par- ents to know once the fencing goes up, the Hamel and Trigg Street entrances will be blocked off. Door nine or the bus door will still be available.
