A Memorial Day remembrance was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery on Monday. Following the National Anthem, the American flag was raised to half-mast. In 1897 the United States Congress passed the uniform Monday Holiday act which establish Memorial Day as the last Monday in May. Over one million men and women have lost their lives defending America.
