JAXON MILLER, who will be an eighth-grader this fall, brings the ball up the floor for the Orrick junior high boys basketball team during a June 21 shootout scrimmage at Orrick High School.

ORRICK – The Orrick varsity boys basketball players were not the only ones who got in some game reps last week on their home floor.

On June 21, the junior high Bearcats hosted a shootout, playing Crest Ridge twice and Keytesville twice. The young Bearcats played their four games one day after Orrick’s varsity boys shootout.

As with the varsity program, it was Orrick’s first time to host the junior high shootout, Mitch Comstock, Orrick athletic director and junior high boys coach, said.
