RICHMOND – Jude Rumbaugh paced Richmond’s runners at the Missouri River Valley Conference East Division boys cross country meet Wednesday at Richmond Middle School. The senior placed fifth in the 3.1-mile race in 18 minutes, 30.9 seconds. Knob Noster’s Sam Wilhelm was the individual champion in 16:29. Rumbaugh was one of two top-20 runners for the Richmond boys, who finished fifth in the team standings with 107 points, getting edged for fourth by Holden by a tiebreaker. Junior Stephen Slater placed 20th in 21:03.8. Also running for the Spartans were senior Bryan Scott, who placed 25th in 22:00.4; Sheldon Goedeke, who took 26th in 22:11.6; and freshman Monty Nelson, who was 31st in 26:30.8.
