Richmond hoopsters dominant in 28-point road win

CARROLLTON – Richmond wanted to dominate Carrollton when the teams met Dec. 22 in varsity boys basketball. “We feel like when we play with energy and focus we have the ability to be dominant at times,” Richmond coach Kevin Jermain stated Sunday via email. Thanks in part to a 28-2 first-half run, the Spartans dominated on the scoreboard, cruising to a 57-29 Missouri River Valley Conference East Division road win. The Trojans led 4-0 when the Spartans started their run by making a two-point bucket with 6 minutes, 22 seconds left in the first quarter. A two-point bucket with 3:42 left in the second quarter ended the run. Richmond used the scoring tear to lead 31-10 at halftime. “It obviously started with our defense,” Jermain wrote. “We did a great job pushing the ball and getting out in transition to get easy shots.
