LOOKING TO THROW

KANSAS CITY Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II looks to throw during a training camp session Aug. 3 at Missouri Western State University, as he and his teammates prepare of Friday’s presason opener.

ST. JOSEPH – Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid is not in any rush to start thinking about Kansas City’s preseason opener.

Or at least he was in no rush during an Aug. 3 press conference.

When asked after the team’s training camp session at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph if it was too early to start discussing the opener against Cincinnati, slated for Friday night at Arrowhead Stadium, Reid replied: “I’ll get that to you as we go (along) here. (I) haven’t put much time or thought into that right this minute. … Normally, I go with the ones (starters) for a quarter or so, but right now … I haven’t got that far yet.”
