ODESSA – Kayden Bowman’s senior season of varsity softball at Richmond “was definitely an adjustment,” she acknowledged. Bowman had to make one more adjustment Tuesday night: She had to adjust to Richmond’s season ending with a 4-1 loss to Oak Grove at the Odessa Sports Complex in the Class 3 District 7 Tournament. “I’m sad that it had to be my senior year, that I had to deal with COVID,” Bowman said. “But it was definitely one to remember.” Bowman, an infielder, was one of two seniors whose season and high school career ended Tuesday. Fellow infielder Mykayla Thaxton was the other. The Spartans, who finished their regular season Monday with an 11-5 Missouri River Valley Conference East Division home win over Lexington, attempted to rally in the sixth and seventh innings Tuesday to give Bowman and Thaxton at least one more ballgame.
