The first two times Orrick faced Kingsville pitcher Casey Stout this softball season, the Bearcats scored at least one run.

But not the third time.

Orrick faced Stout again on Monday at Wellington-Napoleon Community Park in the Class 1 District 16 Tournament. In meeting No. 3, she struck out 14 and threw a three-hitter, helping the Tigers hand the Bearcats a 9-0 season-ending loss.

Mara Inks, Karson Werle and Emma Wilson accounted for Orrick’s three hits. Inks smacked a two-out, first-inning double. Werle singled to lead off the fourth. Wilson singled to lead off the sixth.
