ORRICK – The Bearcats played better defense during their 22-9 Nov. 21 home loss to Polo than they had played in their first meeting with the Panthers during this junior high girls basketball season, coach Bryan O’Dell said.

Specifically, they defended better against Hanna Vaught – Polo’s top scorer.

Vaught poured in 23 points to help the Panthers run away from the Bearcats 35-16 in meeting No. 1. She scored 16 points in the rematch.
