HARDIN – Senior Carly Thacker still has a chance of being a repeat state hurdles champion. In 2019, Thacker won the Class 1 title in the girls 300-meter low hurdles. Although the coronavirus pandemic has halted spring prep sports competitions, the Missouri State High School Activities Association stated in a March 16 press release it was not calling off state championships for springs sports yet. Thus, Thacker could still represent Hardin-Central in Class 1 state competition this year. If MSHSAA stages its spring sports championships, however, Thacker and her Hardin-Central teammates might have few or no regular-season meets to prep for state-qualifying competition.
