HARDIN – Coach Brent Behler and his Bulldogs are edging closer to .500 in varsity boys basketball.

Missouri State High School Activities Association records show the Hardin-Central boys are 4-7 entering Saturday’s Carroll-Livingston Activities Association road meeting with Higbee. The Bulldogs have won two of their last three, starting with a 64-36 CLAA win Jan. 12 at Norborne.

Korbin Pugh dropped in 22 points to power the Bulldogs. Mason Freece also reached double figures with 14.

The Bulldogs then fell Monday at Lone Jack in non-conference action. They won by forfeit Tuesday against Keytesville.

Like the Hardin-Central boys, the varsity girls also play Saturday at Higbee. They seek to build on Tuesday’s 39-32 road win over Keytesville.

In other Hardin-Central basketball news, the Bulldogs were scheduled to host the Hale/Bosworth co-op Jan. 15, but that has been rescheduled, Behler stated Sunday via email.
