HARDIN – Varsity girls basketball coach Kenny Layman and his Bulldogs take advantage of a lengthy break between their last game of 2019 and their first game of 2020.

After closing 2019 with a loss to Green City in the Holiday Hoops shootout at North Central Missouri College in Trenton, Hardin-Central did not play again until Monday’s meeting with visiting Keytesville. The Bulldogs filled that time by concentrating on their press defense “and kind of an uptempo transition game out of the press,” he said.

“Before Christmas, we … got in a deal where we were having several games (close together) – and … you’re not able to really work on things like you can over Christmas,” Layman said. “We had a little extended time.”
