Doyle Faces Resistance

HARDIN-CENTRAL freshman J.W. Doyle has his shot contested during the Bulldogs’ 68-33 loss Monday night to visiting Keytesville.

HARDIN – As the parent of a 1,000-point scorer and as someone who has coached 1,000-point scorers, Hardin-Central varsity boys basketball coach Kirk Thacker knows watching a player reach that milestone can be enjoyable.

Watching Keytesville senior Austin McKinstry join the 1,000 point club Monday during Hardin-Central’s 68-33 home loss, however, could have been better, Thacker said.

If his team had been winning or the game closer, watching would have been more enjoyable, he said. Still, Thacker said he felt happy for McKinstry.
