H-C boys fall to Carrollton in last-minute visit by Trojans
HARDIN – An 11th-hour switch of opponents did not bother Hardin-Central varsity boys basketball coach Brent Behler.
Like their girls counterparts, the Hardin-Central boys were slated for a Dec. 5 meeting with visiting Braymer as the last of three pool play games in the Gallatin Invitational Tournament, an annual early season competition that is staged in a bracket format at Gallatin High School when there is no coronavirus pandemic. Like the Hardin-Central girls, the boys found themselves facing Carrollton instead because Braymer had to cancel.
And like the Hardin-Central girls, the boys lost, falling 60-40.
“We’re still trying to learn how to play in a new system,” Behler said. “The last thing I’m really too concerned about is who we play. We … have to understand what we need to do. So, while it was short notice, they … (hadn’t) even had a game yet. … I didn’t think that was too big of a deal for us.”
