Doyle leads senior-laden roster into latest H-C campaign
HARDIN – The 2020 Hardin-Central varsity softball roster gives Bulldogs coach Brandee Doyle cause for concern
About 2021, that is.
Through the first week of practice, seven of Doyle’s 16 players were seniors
“I don’t like it, but it is what it is,” she said.
A senior-heavy squad this season means “there will be some spots that we will be missing the girls on (the field) once they graduate” next year, Doyle sai Aug. 14 at the Hardin American Legion and Auxiliary baseball and softball fields
“But we’ll make it work,” Doyle, who lost four seniors from her 2019 team, said.
Second baseman Brogan DeMint is among the seven seniors. DeMint considers the team’s senior-heavy roster “a good thing.” The seniors will be able “to build the younger girls up,” she said.
“We can help them … fill the positions and teach them as we go,” DeMint said.
DeMint and her fellow seniors impressed Doyle as fall practices got underway, particularly their batting.
