ORRICK – The Bearcats found it difficult “to find a rhythm” during their 72-20, season-ending loss to King City/ Union Star, Orrick varsity coach Eric Fairchild acknowledged. “Some things that we couldn’t control just made it hard on us,” Fairchild said. One thing the Bearcats could not control in the Oct. 31 meeting at Simmons Field was King City/Union Star’s rushing attack. Unofficially, the Wildcats amassed 384 yards rushing in romping to their District 3 8-man football playoff victory. Junior Parker Muff paced the ground game with 290 yards and five touchdowns on 34 carries. Muff’s other offensive contributions included a TD reception and four twopoint conversion runs. “He’s the type of kid that can run over you or run around you and outrun you to the end zone,” King City/Union Star coach Micah Breckenridge said. “He’s just got speed and power.
