The Holden Eagles stayed in contention for the top spot in the MRVC East baseball race Tuesday afternoon as they outscored the Spartans 11-6 at Southview Park. Once again, a big inning proved to be the difference for Richmond as the Spartans fall to 3-14 overall and 2-6 in conference. Holden used a five-run fourth inning to erase a 5-2 Spartan lead as the Eagles won for the 17th time in 20 games and pushed their league mark to 5-2. The Eagles and Higginsville both have two conference losses, with Carrollton on top with just one league setback.

Holden jumped on top Tuesday with an unearned run in the top of the first, but Richmond came back to tie the game with Laine Todd leading off and reaching with on a double.
