Hughes stood up

KYSOR HUGHES, No. 44, attempts to barrel through Osceola sophomore linebacker Sam Scott for the Aggies.

HARDIN – Norborne Hardin-Central varsity coach Kirk Thacker has another score to settle with Osceola.

On Oct. 4 at Hardin-Central, Thacker watched his Aggies rally from a 22-point, second-quarter deficit to tie Osceola early in the fourth quarter, only to watch a thriller final quarter end in a 36-34 loss.

The defeat occurred 11 months and a few days after NHC’s 44-40 season-ending loss to Osceola in the District 4 8-man football playoffs.

“We lost by four and now we only lose by two. By golly, maybe we’ll tie them next time,” Thacker said.
