Ruth Ann “Granny” Driskell, 82, Richmond, died Friday, June 14, 2019, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond surrounded by her loving family.

Ruth was born Dec. 17, 1936, in Cave Springs, Arkansas, the daughter of Elmer and Clara Faye (Fitzhugh) Schaffer. She was first married to Jerry Lee Camp of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, in 1953. They later divorced. Ruth then married Orel Lee Driskell of Richmond on Dec. 14, 1974; he preceded her in death in 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Lynne) Camp and Eddie (Diane) Camp, both of Richmond; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Elizabeth) Camp, Aaron (Kara) Camp, David (Andrea) Camp, Kimberly (Matt) Vines, Brittney (Doug) Reed, Jessica (Nathan) Seek and Brian Camp; 19 great-grandchildren, Nicole, Dustin, Caleb, Corbin, Cooper, Carolina, Aiden, Brecklyn, Ethan, Andrew, Alex, Peyton, Mason, Gabby, Carson, Bella, Dace, Viven and Evie; two great-great-grandchildren, Lillian and Kayson; one brother, Elmer “Jay” Shaffer of Malvern, Arkansas; one sister, Sharon (Derry) Camp of Pea Ridge.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Francis Howell.

In addition to being a housewife and homemaker, Ruth also worked for several area businesses and retired from Walmart in 2014. She was known as Granny to everyone. Ruth enjoyed going to auctions and garage sales. She was especially close with, and proud of, all of her grandchildren.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Woodland Cemetery in Richmond.
