The family of Rachelle (Shelly) Elaine Womack, 59, Carrollton, has sadly and unexpectedly lost their wife, mother, sister, grandma and best friend. Shelly passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Missouri.

She was born Dec. 17, 1959, in St. Joseph, one of eleven children blessed to the home of Orval Chesley Richards Jr. and Mary Ella (Robertson) Richards.

Shelly attended grade school in Norborne and graduated from Carrollton High School in 1978. On Sept. 26, 1981, Shelly married her best friend, Darrell Womack, at the First Baptist Church in Carrollton They had three beautiful daughters, Ashley Nicole, Mary Katherine and Tera Lee.

Shelly was full of joy and was never without a smile. Her sassy attitude and fun-loving disposition brought laughter to many. She was outgoing, easy to get to know, got along with everyone she met and never met a stranger. She looked forward to playing bingo and bowling, however, her most special times were spent with her larger than life close knit family who meant the world to her, especially her grandchildren who she absolutely couldn't resist spoiling.

For the last 26 years, Shelly worked for Henkel in Richmond. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carrollton and enjoyed being on a bowling league at North Star Lane in Carrollton.

Shelly is survived by her husband, Darrell, of the home; her daughters, Ashley Nicole Murphy and husband, Scott, of Carrollton; Mary Katherine Womack and special friend, Aaron Fisher, of Carrollton; Tera Lee Womack and special friend, Kevin Wolf, of Carrollton; her dad, Orval Richards, Jr. and wife, Alice, of Carrollton.

She is also survived by siblings, Robert Richards and wife, Kelly, of Greenback, Tennessee; Donald Richards and wife, Mary Kay, of Hale; Douglas Richards of Madisonville, Tennessee; Rebecca Hensley and husband, Rickie, of Marshall; Billy Richards and wife, Tera, of Maryville, Tennessee; Laura Brockman and husband, Tim, of Carrollton; Thomas Richards and wife, Kristie, of Carrollton; Tammy Crawford and husband, Robert, of Carrollton; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kylie Murphy, Lauren Hester, Viola and Cadence Wolf; mother-in-law and dear friend, Thelma Womack; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Shelly was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mildred and Orval Richards Sr.; maternal grandparents, Gurney and Nettie Robertson; mother, Mary Ella (Robertson) Richards; brothers, Raymond Orval Richards and Ronald Joe Richards; nephew, Cory Richards; and father-in-law, Willie Womack.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Bittiker Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, June 3, 2019, at Bittiker Funeral Home with the Rev. Cheryl Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton.
