Paula Jean Breen, 82, of Richmond, died unexpectedly, Friday, Oct. 9, 2020, at her home.

Paula was born on Jan. 11, 1938, in St. Louis, the daughter of Walter Fred and Esther Catherine Louise (Hirth) Steinmeyer. She was united in marriage to Michael John Breen Jr. of St. Louis on Jan. 1, 1956. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 2017.

Survivors include: two sons, Michael John (Suzan) Breen III of Rayville, and Steven Patrick Breen of Richmond; three grandsons, Michael John Breen IV, Jackson Steven Breen and Darien Robert Breen; and sister, Mary Ann Weiner of Gresham, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and infant daughter, Donna Leigh Breen.

Paula was reared and educated in St. Louis and graduated in 1955 from Normandy High School. She worked with her husband, traveling throughout the Midwest, selling handbags and shoes. Paula and her husband were inseparable. She was a devoted mother, loved dogs and collected anything to do with frogs.

Visitation with a memorial graveside service took place on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, with the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
