Paul Daniel McBee, 75, of Hardin, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at his home.

Paul was born on Nov. 11, 1944, in Lamar, Colorado, the son of James W. and Charlotte L. (Baker) McBee. He was united in marriage to Karen Joyce Frazer on Sept. 18, 1966, at the Richmond United Methodist Church. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include two sons, Daniel Shawn McBee of Hardin and Steven Travis (Jennifer) McBee of Olathe, Kansas; daughter, Amanda (Russell) Chinn of San Angelo, Texas; six grandchildren, Austin Chinn, Emily Chinn, Jack McBee, Grant McBee, Fox McBee and Breckyn McBee; a brother, Richard McBee of Sun City West, Arizona; a sister, Marge Crabill of Denver; and two sisters-in-law, Judy McBee and Susie McBee, both of Richmond.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Junior McBee, Glen McBee and Jimmie Dee McBee.

Paul graduated from Richmond High School in 1962. He then went on to what is now Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg and graduated in 1970. Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy. Paul worked most of his life as an investigator for the Department of Labor. He worked on the Organized Crime Strike Force most of his career, where he wrote most of the agency’s training manual. He lived in Banbridge, Maryland; Jacksonville, Florida; St. Louis; and Warrensburg. He was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church. He served as president of the Hardin-Central Board of Education for 12 years.
