Michael Curtis James of Richmond passed away Dec. 25, 2020, at Liberty Hospital from complications of COVID-19.

Michael was born July 2, 1972, at Excelsior Springs Hospital to Stephen and Shirley (Anderson) James of Lawson. Michael attended Maple Valley Schools for the Severely Disabled. He received many Special Olympics awards, especially in bowling. He was employed at Ideal Industries Sheltered Workshop for 33 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Richmond. Michael was a dedicated Chiefs and Royals fan.

Michael is survived by Stephen and Shirley James of Lawson; Roy Anderson of Spring Hill, Kansas; two brothers, Roy Adair of Richmond and David (Crystal) James of Lawson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by Norman and Marie James, and Dorothy Anderson.

There will be no service at this time because of COVID-19. We will have a celebration of life at a later date.
