Mark Allen Moyer, 53, of Richmond, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 21, 2020, at his home.

Mark was born on Oct. 30, 1966, in Jackson County, the son of Stanley Allen and Mary Lou (Lana) Moyer Sr. He was united in marriage to Deanna Larue Francis of Richmond on Oct. 31, 1998; she preceded him in death on March 10, 2010.

Mark leaves behind a son, Dereck Kayne Moyer (fiancée Morgan Lamar); grandson, Atreus Cain Moyer; stepchildren, Alex Francis and Chris Francis; step-grandson, Zaide Francis; nephew, Dewayne (Jona) Stephens; great-niece, Savanna Stephens; brother, Stanley Allen (Karen) Moyer Jr.; and several aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Emma Stephens; and niece, Tonie Stephens.

Growing up, Mark spent his time working at the bowling alley in Henrietta and going to school in Richmond, where he met and fell in love with his wife. Mark enjoyed going to and watching both the Chiefs and the Royals games, spending time with his friends, watching movies, and visiting with his son and grandson. Mark was a generous person who was willing to help those in need and was always there for his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all those who know and love him.

A memorial visitation occurred from6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Todd’s Chapel Cemetery, west of Richmond.
