Kristen Meredith Minnick, 61, of Richmond, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, at Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond.

Kristen was born on Feb. 1, 1959, in Trimble, the daughter of Frank and Erma (Bartlett) Munkirs. She was united in marriage to Mark David Minnick of Richmond on March 18, 2000. He survives of the home.

Survivors include: one aunt, Mary Jo Bartlett of California; brothers-in-law, Andy (Karen) Minnick and Chris (Carmen) Minnick; nieces, Ashley Clark, Cheyenne Minnick, Sherry Bartlett and Beth Bartlett; nephews, Chance Minnick, Clinton Minnick, Tyler Minnick and Myron Bartlett; and mother-in-law, Glenda Minnick.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jolene Munkirs, and a sister in infancy; and father-in-law, Bob Minnick.

Kristen graduated with honors from Smithville High School. Then, she attended Western Missouri State College and William Jewell College. Her work history included working for Marian Labs in the financial administration department for more than 20 years and then Teva Pharmaceuticals Co. for 16 years. She was working at the Hockemeier Law Firm at the time of her death.

Kristen loved cooking and entertaining. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Ministries. She enjoyed volunteering for the local Relay for Life and made beautiful prayer shawls for cancer patients. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Visitation with memorial services will be held on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., with services at 11. Rev. Darrin Daniel will officiate.
