Janice Kay Driver, 75, Richmond, died Sunday, June 30, 2019, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Janice was born Sept. 26, 1943, in Lexington, the daughter of Raymond Wilkes and Mary Juanita (Keller) Driver.
Janice graduated from Lexington High School in 1961. She graduated from the University of Central Missouri in 1965 with a bachelor of science and a master’s in education.
Janice started her teaching career in 1965 in a small, one-room school house outside of Richmond. She taught second grade in the Richmond school district for 34 years. Janice was inducted in the 2011 Richmond R-XVI Wall of Honor.
She enjoyed ceramics and made countless ceramics, which she gave to students throughout her 34-year career. During retirement, Janice enjoyed quilting with her friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include: one sister and brother-in-law, Donnie and Mary Fowler of Richmond; one brother-in-law, Ron Cohron of Blue Springs; six nieces and nephews, Matthew (Kelly) Knott of Blue Springs; Jennifer Moss of Kansas City; Christina Knott of Blue Springs; McKenzie Fowler of Kansas City; Kyle (Lauren) Fowler of Kansas City; and Brandon Cohron of St. Louis; four great nieces and nephews, Madelyn Cohron, Kyla Moss, Ethan Rice and Emilee Knott.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Brenda Cohron; and a great-niece, Macie Rice.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at the United Christian Presbyterian Church in Richmond. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
