Jackie Wayne “Jack” Wicker, 66, of Excelsior Springs passed away on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023, at North-Care Hospice House in North Kansas City.

Jack was born May 17, 1957, in Kansas City, the son of Virgil Ernest and Donna Lucille (Liles) Wicker.

He was united in marriage to April L. Round of Excelsior Springs on March 30, 1979. She survives of the Jackie Wicker

home.

Additional survivors include his mother, Donna Lucille Wicker of Richmond; son, Nathan Wicker of Excelsior Springs; daughter, Rachael Wicker of Cameron; three grandchildren, Preston Wayne Wicker, Jackson Elijah Wicker and Charlie Louise Wicker; brother, Steve (Brenda) Wicker of Wood Heights; sister, Kathie (Garry) Bush of Richmond; father-in-law, Harry Round of Lawson; mother-in-law, Loretta Coble of Cameron; uncle, Don Nightingale of Lincoln, Neb.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father. Jack was reared and educated in Excelsior Springs and graduated with the class of 1975. After high school, he joined the family business, Wicker Furniture, TV and Appliance. He was a familiar face at the store, where he worked for many years.

Jack had an early love for music and started playing piano and singing at a young age. He especially enjoyed country and Gospel music. Jack played all around the Kansas City metro area. He played for more than 40 country stars when they came to the area for shows. Most of all, Jack loved all his family, especially his grandkids.

He was of the Christian faith. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Jack Wicker Memorial Fund. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 17, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m., with services to follow at 2. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.
