Donald Wayne “Tony” Pedockie, 85, Richmond, died Monday, May 13, 2019, at North Care Hospice House, North Kansas City.

Tony was born Sept. 5, 1933, in Richmond, the son of Peter and Margaret Frances (Seek) Pedockie. He was united in marriage to Janet M. Eichler of Richmond Aug. 14, 1954. She survives of the home.

Tony grew up and was educated in Richmond. As a youth, he and his friends were very adventurous, like Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. For many years, Tony owned and operated Pedockie Painting in Richmond. He had a strong work ethic and spent many evenings building and remodeling his home, after a long day of painting. Tony had a talent for fixing anything and could make anything look brand new.

He enjoyed fishing, was an avid quail hunter, and trained his own bird dogs. Tony was a great story teller, a little bit of a prankster and always had a good joke. Many of his stories were about his adventures as a youth. Tony was of the Christian faith.

Additional survivors include: two daughters, Angela Tribble (William Galloway) of Blairstown and Arlene Kennedy (William Kennedy) of Sioux City, Iowa; one brother, Edward (Elaine) Pedockie of Excelsior Springs; one sister, Shirley Humbard of Excelsior Springs; two grandchildren, Lesley Tribble and Brandon Perry; and one great-granddaughter, Rosalie Perry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Vanessa Pedockie.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2019, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019, at the funeral home.
