Billy H. “Bill” Carmichael, 78, Pleasant Valley, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at the Kansas City VA Hospital after a lengthy battle with lymphoma.

Bill was born May 2, 1941, in Excelsior Springs to Harold R. and Rose H. Carmichael.

He attended Richmond public schools. After graduating from Richmond High School in 1959, he joined the U.S. Army.

Survivors include two sons, Dwayne L. Carmichael and Billy H. (Mary) Carmichael II; two grandsons, Billy H. Carmichael III and Adam Carmichael; two granddaughters, Malaina and Amanda; and four great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, James L. (Ruth) Carmichael and Darrel E. Carmichael; two sisters, Joyce E. (Lloyd) Caton and Rosemary (Tim) Collins; four nephews and six nieces.

Memorial services will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 23, at the Ray County veterans Building, 312 Clark St. Inurnment will be at a later date at Memory Gardens, Richmond.
