Alice Neely of Richmond, MO born to William H. and Geneva Pickard on March 21, 1931, peacefully passed from this earth May 31, 2021. Alice loved her family, friends, church, and community and was a founding member of the Ray County Heath Department, a long-time member, deacon and elder of the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church, Salvation Army volunteer, Cub and Boy Scout leader and numerous other civic organizations. Alice most recently lived in Liberty at Addington Place Assisted Living and Memory Care Center.

She is survived by her sons and families Brent and Rebecca Neely of Kansas City; Brian and Cara Neely of Liberty; as well as granddaughters Blair Neely Quiggle (Jacob) of Silverthorne, CO, Bobbie Rae Neely of Kansas City, Amanda Neely (Nick Jabs) of Riverton, NJ, and Alexandra Neely Weathers (Seth) of Bolivar, MO. Alice was also great-grandmother of Blake Neely, Alice Quiggle, Avery Clutter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 59 years, Bob.

The family offers sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of Addington Place of Shoal Creek as well as the staff of Ascend Hospice. Their commitment and care during these trying times is greatly appreciated.

Visitation will be held at the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church June 5, 2021, at 10:30 -11:30 a.m. with a memorial service immediately following.

The family has established a scholarship fund in Alice and Bob’s names for nurses desiring to enter the hospice field. This scholarship will benefit a nursing student who desires to specialize in the hospice field or work with patients in memory care.  In lieu of flowers the family requests tax deductible memorial contributions to the Research Foundation for Alice and Bob Neely Memorial Nursing Student Scholarship Fund, 2316 E Meyer Blvd, KCMO 64132 or to Alzheimer's Foundation of America .
