Terry Schlotzhauer

Terry Lee Schlotzhauer passed away Aug. 24, 2026, at his home in Phoenix. Born April 23, 1949, to Marshall and Mabel (Street) Schlotzhauer, he graduated in 1967 from Richmond High School. He attended Central Missouri State University (now the University of Central Missouri) for two years before joining the U.S. Air Force and serving in Vietnam.

After completing his military service, he worked in Tulsa, Okla., for American Airlines as an airframe and power plant mechanic. In 2010, he retired to Arizona after 30½ years with American Airlines.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall; mother, Mabel; stepfather, Herb Wollard; brother, Jack Schlotzhauer; and wives, Sabrina Schlotzhauer and Debbie Schlotzhauer.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela (Matt) Pregler of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Payten and Brayden Pregler; brothers, Kent (Peggy) Wollard and Randy (Amanda) Wollard; and sister-in-law, Vaki Schlotzhauer. He also is survived by his nieces, Anna Schlotzhauer (Jim Bergman) and Maggie Wollard; nephew, Tony (Melissa) Schlotzhauer; great-niece, Daphne Bergman; great-nephew, Dane Bergman; and other extended family members.

Terry was truly one of a kind – a man who knew what he loved and lived on his own terms.

In retirement, he found happiness in Arizona’s warm weather and the things he enjoyed most: fast motorcycles, guns, cars, and above all, his beloved high school sweetheart, Debbie. He cherished their time together, especially watching sunsets with Debbie and her dog, Callie Jo.

A devoted AC/DC fan, Terry believed the louder the music, the better.

He was most content at home, surrounded by familiar comforts and rarely eager to leave them. His pleasures might have been simple, but the life he created was rich in love and lasting memories.
