Shop With a Sheriff

RICHMOND – The generosity of individuals and businesses allowed Ray County Sheriff’s Office staff and friends to take 15 children on a pre-Christmas shopping spree at the Richmond Walmart on Dec. 18.

“Not everyone has the means to provide Christmas,” the event organizer and founder, Sgt. Jeff Perkins, said moments before shopping began. “A couple of these families are taking care of their grandkids, because their parents may be not around at the moment, and some of them just need help.”

Sheriff Garry Bush backed the plan from the start.
