Rollover wreck claims three lives

LAWSON – Three Caldwell County residents died in a rollover wreck on Highway D in Ray County about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, the Missouri Highway Patrol reported.

“It was raining,” patrol Sgt. Bill Lowe said Wednesday. “For sure the road was wet.”

Whether wet conditions, speed or another factor contributed to the wreck has not been determined, he said. A patrol crash team is investigating.

The patrol reported the driver, Kara N. Frisch, 24, Polo, drove a 2015 Buick Encore east on Highway D. About half a mile east of Highway C, the vehicle went off the right side of the road, overturned, struck a tree and caught fire.

The wreck killed Frisch and passengers Andrew M. Fleming, 26, Polo, and Bradley S. Ahart, 42, Kingston.

Ray County Coroner Bartlett Willim pronounced Frisch, Fleming and Ahart dead at the scene.

Whether any of the three people in the vehicle wore seat belts is not yet known, Lowe said.

The Missouri Highway Patrol and Ray County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash.
