RICHMOND – Winning in the poultry competition takes knowledge, something the judge, Jake Montemayor, Cole Camp, provides while looking over various breeds at the Ray County Fair.

Montemayor picks up a bird and begins spreading feathers in search of insects living on the bird. Judges do not want to see insects, he warns exhibitors.
