JEFFERSON CITY – There will be no elections in April – not for Proposition T in Excelsior Springs School District, not for Proposition Kids in Orrick School District, not for people running for school board and city council seat.

Acting in concert and in reaction to the coronavirus, COVID-19, Gov. Mike Parson and Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft on Wednesday stated the April 7 municipal elections would be delayed until June 2.

“Missouri has 116 separate election authorities, almost all (of whom) are elected in their own right, and we have come together to help protect Missouri voters,” Ashcroft stated. “These are difficult times, but I am grateful for how we have responded, worked together and come to a resolution that helps every single Missouri voter.”

In-person absentee ballots may be cast until 5 p.m. June 1. Absentee ballots must be received by the election authority by 7 p.m. June 2.
