Problems with the Ray County Sheriff’s Office’s (RCSO) handling of warrant entries was first brought to light in a March Ray County Commissioners (RCC) meeting. Commissioners were informed of the problem by the Ray County 911 Board, who came to the group seeking solutions. At that time, the agencies agreed to a 90-day testing period to implement new ways to improve the transference of information. The 911 Board entered warrant cancellations, terminating the contract means the Ray County Sheriff’s Office will have to cancel the warrants at the sheriff’s office by its employees. It would be their responsibility to be sure the warrants were canceled in an accurate and timely manner. Prior to the meeting, the Ray County 911 Office and its board members worked with Shareholding Attorney Jennifer Snider of Witt, Hicklin, Snider and Fain D.C.
