In a nailbiter, Bush returning as  Ray County sheriff

By a narrow gap of 229 votes, Garry Bush, a Democrat, defeated Cole Noble, a Republican, in Tuesday’s election for sheriff. Unofficial results from the Ray County general election indicated that 5,510 Ray Countians, or 50.98 percent, voted for Bush, while 5,281 Ray Countians, or 48.86 percent, voted for Noble, with 17 write-ins, or 0.16 percent, for other candidates.

Bush was surrounded by family on the second floor of the Ray County Courthouse when he heard the unofficial results of the election.
