DAMAGED BOLTS

HEAVILY ACIDIC SOIL tends to corrode metal in water valves. A water leak on Monday, Aug. 5, could not be repaired because of damage to the bolts that hold the valve bonnet together. An inserta valve had to be installed before this valve could be replaced, costing the city $6,000. The city water system continues to be a high priority for the next budget year.
