Commission adjusts Henrietta overpass motion for demolition bids

Following a prior decision to remove the structure, Ray County commissioners voted to modify an earlier motion on the Henrietta overpass, allowing the demolition project to be let for bids. The action occurred during a recent meeting after officials determined the original motion needed to be modified, as the cost exceeded the county’s authority to proceed without a formal bidding process. Commissioners originally approved demolition of the Henrietta overpass on March 19 after determining the estimated $10 million cost to rebuild the structure was not feasible.
