City acts to end gas drive-offs

CITY requires gas stations to either change their pump rules or lose their licenses to do business.

RICHMOND – Gas thieves who target Richmond will have to go somewhere else, City Administrator Tonya Willim said after the City Council passed a pre-pay/pre-approval ordinance Tuesday. Businesses that sell fuel must require pre-payment or pre-approval of gas sales before allowing a customer to pump fuel, the ordinance states.
