RICHMOND – “I don’t want to be an itinerant pastor and I do not want to go to seminary,” Rev. Cathy Myers told her mentor years ago as she considered joining the ministry.

“I’m sure God laughed,” she said Wednesday as she sat down amid boxes of office supplies and books in her office at the Richmond United Methodist Church, 212 W. Main St.
