RICHMOND – Doors open for the Miss Ray County Scholarship Pageant at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Farris Theatre in Richmond.

Pageant participants are Lawson resident Sarah McDowell and Richmond residents Malori Chrisman, Emily Martens, Kylie Phipps, Alexis Rice and Isabelle Rogers.

“We are featuring entertainment, raffles and Kera Mashek of Fox4 News as emcee,” Executive Director Lisa Reed stated.

Tickets cost $12. Children 5 and younger are allowed to attend the event free.

“The Miss Ray County Scholarship Pageant is a college scholarship opportunity for young women of Ray County,” Reed stated.

Contestants must be residents of Ray County, ages 17-24, who will attend a college or trade school in the fall.

All proceeds from the evening go directly into the college scholarship awarded on pageant night.

“We would like to encourage and invite everyone to come and support their local girls,” Reed stated.
