Before Richmond, Orrick and Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) started fall sports practices this week in high school football, they each got in one last summer road trip. Richmond visited Branson, where the Spartans participated in an 11-man scrimmage camp.
Attempting to be ahead of the game for next summer, the Richmond City Park Board approved a $13,900 bid from Preservation Pools and Foundations Ltd. of Kansas City to replace pipes and valves to the slide at the Southview Pool during the Tuesday city council meeting.
The First Responder Mental Health Initiative Act (House Bill 539) went into effect this month, allowing 911 dispatchers to be considered first responders. The bill will bring many changes, according to Missouri District 7 Representative Peggy McGaugh.
Extreme weather which produced a tornado swept through Hardin last Friday, according to Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers. “We were told an eyewitness saw one cross Hwy 10,” said Childers.
With the new school year coming up, many local schools are introducing their new staff – including the Hardin-Central (H-C) School District. Having served as H-C Superintendent since July 1, Oak Grove native Austin Purvis has been in the district for eight years as the elementary school principal.
