Week 9 ballgame ‘very important’ to NHC
Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) varsity 8-man football coach Andrew Watson doesn’t expect a dramatic shift in seeding for the District 4 Tournament after this week’s games.
That doesn’t mean, however, that NHC’s meeting with Northwest of Hughesville/ Otterville Friday night at Hardin-Central is insignificant.
“I do think this game is very important for us, in terms of … getting some things fixed before we get to the playoffs,” Watson said Monday by phone.
Based on the Aggies’ performance in their 51-8 Oct. 13 loss to St. Paul Lutheran of Concordia at Hardin-Central, one issue they must address is dealing with surprises, Watson suggested. The Saints (4-4) “came out in … some different offensive stuff than what we had planned,” he said.
“(They) kind of punched us in the mouth a little bit and we weren’t … ready for it,” Watson said. “And really, mentally, we … didn’t respond the way we needed to.”
